Complex economic times call for tremendous increases in efficiency in production, transportation and retail. In any industry, will incremental gains to be found in the combined processes which culminate in the offering of a product for sale. Because businesses especially successful ones have been looking at their processes for a long time will require intense scrutiny to glean any reductions in cost. While location intelligence is a result new concept it is not complicated. It is simply the notion that in addition to product and marketing analysis as usual, the component of where the product is being sold is equally important. For example, in a service industry, knowing in which locations the greatest density of product requirement exists would allow a company to most efficiently position its fleet of service personnel, equipment and vehicles.

Tough times drive management to make difficult decisions. These decisions may even include reduction of employees which contrary to employee believes is not something management wants to do. It’s possible to use a combination of business management and location intelligence to increase profit and efficiency businesses are more likely to be able to retain employees and stay successful even in a down market.
